A new formulation comprising nanogels conjugated with insulin molecules (NG-In) has been developed to be used for Alzheimer Disease (AD) therapy. Nanogels (NGs) are an emerging class of nanocarriers characterized by water-swollen, nanosized three-dimensional networks. The family of synthetized nanogels is characterized by a lightly crosslinked structure, based on poly (N-vinyl pyrrolidone), and multiple functionalities including carboxylic and primary amino groups.

La tecnologia prevede la costruzione di nanogels a cui vengono legate molecole di insulina (NGIn) da utilizzare nella terapia della malattia di Alzheimer. Uno degli aspetti più innovativi di NGIn è nella progettazione e produzione del nanocarrier. I nanogels prodotti sono nanoparticelle polimeriche idrofile, leggermente reticolate e ricche di gruppi funzionali, di dimensioni controllate (circa 80 nm).

Protected by patents and pending patents own by the Italian National Research Council, is capable of tracing any element, species or varieties, declared or not, actually present in food mixtures and primary raw material.

Il sistema di identificazione qualitativa e quantitativa delle materie prime di origine sia animale che vegetale presenti negli alimenti,si basa su una metodica di genetica molecolare del tutto diversa da quelle correnti, usate dalla competizione. Tutelata da brevetti del CNR consente la tracciabilità di tutte le componenti, dichiarate o no, effettivamente presenti in miscele e materie prime. Lo fa con un'unica reazione di amplificazione PCR ed una successiva fase di risoluzione dei prodotti condotta con elettroforesi capillare.

The technology exploits the fluorescence quenching mechanism dues to the presence of metal ions in solution, by a Green Fluorescent Protein (GFP) extracted from a marine organism and produced as recombinant protein.  rGFP showed selectivity and sensitivity to copper ions (in the µM range) so it was used to test the possibility to design an optical sensor prototype. In addition, we decided  to validate the technology on a biological system such as closed cultivation of tomato and strawberry plants.

The Human Papillomavirus (HPV) is the aetiological cause of many different tumours including cervical, ano-genital and head/neck cancers. No specific therapies exist for the treatment of these tumours able to avoid recurrence of lesions. Targeting the HPV-associated antigens (i.e. the E7 and E6 oncoproteins) offers the possibility to tailor intervention and produce specific anti-HPV tumour therapies.

La tecnologia si colloca nell’area dell’immunoterapia (vaccini terapeutici) dei tumori associati ad infezione da virus del papilloma umano (HPV). La tecnologia si basa in particolare su un vaccino genetico in cui una versione 'disarmata' del gene codificante l’oncoproteina E7 di HPV 16 è fusa con gene vegetale che codifica per una proteina vegetale mutata (‘saporina’ di Saponaria officinalis).

The technology is based on the development of molecular markers suitable to the identification and quantification of the precious white truffle - Tuber magnatum Pico – in truffle-products in order to certify their quality to the consumer.

The identification of the truffle species is generally based on the features of their spores and peridium, but the identification in processed truffle-products as creams and butter can be ambiguous because of the drastic treatments to which truffles are exposed during the commercial preparation.
